Welcome to my website, and thanks for your interest in learning more about my books and me. The publication of Murderʼs No Votive Confidence, my debut novel, has been incredibly exciting. In addition to spending my days crafting stories, Iʼm learning a lot of other things. For example, Iʼm now on social media—was I the last to join Facebook?—so that I can meet my readers! I hope Iʼll get to know you as the Nantucket Candle Maker Mysteries hit the shelves.
As for me, I was born, raised and still reside in New York City, a perfect place to stir the imagination and witness lifeʼs every day stories. I attended Connecticut College where I studied art history, Italian and theater, then tackled the other side of my brain through a masters at the Columbia Business School. I began my career in television production at the A&E Network, HBO and PBS before moving into business development and marketing at Time Incorporated.
While I was living in London for a time with my husband and children, I challenged myself to re-experience the books on my shelf as if I were a writer. It was often rainy, we had a fireplace, there was a really lovely garden across the street. The setting lent itself to mysteries, then writing. Six months into my journey, I took the plunge and put pen to paper. In no time, writing became my passion. It led me to the discovery of characters, plot twists, the sacred spaces of breathtaking libraries, writer-friendly cafes and friends who share my desire to puzzle out stories and motives. It took me ten years to finish one book. Never sold! Twelve months and one wonderful agent later, however, I finished two more, the first two books of the Nantucket Candle Maker mysteries.
The idea to write the series sprang from my life-long connection to Nantucket, the small island off the coast of Massachusetts. Spending summers there as a child, I read my first Agatha Christie books which I found tucked away in a house my parents rented on India Street. As an adult, my education in mysteries continued through my brotherʼs phenomenal mystery library at my familyʼs home in Nantucket. When not writing, I love to spend time with friends and family, explore New York City, tap dance, and laugh.
I hope you enjoy the Nantucket Candle Maker Mysteries!
